Fellow Tibians, as we announced in a previous dev note, we have performed a small revamp of a few existing spells as well as created some new spells, which we plan to implement with this year's summer update. We have started a public test server to give you the opportunity to try out the affected spells in advance and to provide us with your feedback and thoughts about them. We would like to give you a brief overview of the new and revamped spells:
New summons: Each vocation can cast its own summon, which will follow you around and attack the same monsters as you are. Its movement speed corresponds with yours and it can change levels to follow you up or down stairs or ladders. Keep in mind, these summons cannot participate in certain boss fights.
Second wind: Depending on your remaining health, second wind allows you to increase your damage output in dangerous situations. The lower your remaining health, the higher the damage you will deal.
Challenge: A knight that casts challenge, attracts the attention of surrounding monsters for at least 8 seconds. Within that time frame, the challenge spell can only be broken if the corresponding knight dies, leaves the battle scene, or another knight decides to cast challenge. Weakened monsters cannot flee as long as they are controlled by the spell.
Conjure wand of darkness: We replaced the spell enchant staff to conjure wand of darkness. The new wand of darkness deals high death damage and temporarily increases your magic level.
New conjure spells: We have removed the following spells from the game: conjure bolt, conjure sniper arrow, conjure piercing bolt, conjure poisoned arrow as well as the promotion spell conjure power bolt. In return, paladins received three, more powerful, new promotion spells: conjure diamond arrow, conjure spectral bolt and conjure royal star.
For detailed information concerning the newly added and revamped spells please check out the "Spell Details" announcement on the test board.
The test server is only accessible via our Tibia 11 client. The character backup for the public test server was taken on March 31, at 10:00 CEST. Therefore, you will have to use your account name and password that were valid on this date to access the test server. During the testing phase, it is quite possible that the test server is only running for a day, for example, until it gets shut down again to get new changes implemented. This allows us to respond more quickly and accurate to your feedback and to work on changes based on your suggestions. We have set up a testing board on which our tutors, senators, fansite representatives, focus group members, former closed beta testers, and selected long-time players can post their feedback. We invite everybody else to post their feedback in the corresponding thread in the Auditorium. We have prepared a few questions, which should help you to provide us with the needed feedback.
New Additions, Products and Features in Tibia 25-04-2017 / Rickerd
with today's extended server save, we implemented a patch that includes the following:
First of all, we made some adjustments on our website. There is a new Tibia Support Webinterface, which allows you to contact our support team directly in our support section if you are logged in. Once you have confirmed your request, a support ticket will be created and forwarded to our support team, where it will be processed as usual. You will be notified on the site and via email as soon as you have received a reply. There is also a new dedicated section on the bottom of your Account Management page to show you all of your existing tickets.
Additionally, there is now a "CM Tracker" on the right column of the website if you are browsing the forum section. All posts from us community managers are now easier to track and follow. While the latest four posts will be displayed in the tracker, you can search for our older postings in the new "CM Post Archive".
A new Store interface as well as the following new products are also available now:
Two new blessings can help you to reduce your penalty in case your character dies. In total, you can now reduce it by 56% if you die while being protected by all seven blessings. Both new blessings can either be purchased in the Store or obtained directly in Tibia from two new NPCs. You are now able to have up to five charges of each blessing. In case of death, one charge will be consumed but your character will stay protected by the remaining ones until you run out of charges. Keep in mind that you can only buy the first charge of blessings from NPCs. Additional charges need to be purchased via the Store. Last but not least, we are introducing Death Redemption as a Store product. By purchasing the Death Redemption after your character's death, it will be treated as if it was fully shielded by all blessings at the time of death, meaning you will regain a maximum of 56% of your lost EXP and skill points.
Spell list: We added a new control button to show or hide a new spell list in your sidebar. The spell list will provide you with useful information about every spell. Additionally, you can sort your spell list to make sure it only displays the spells you are currently interested in.
Action bars: You are now able to activate up to two action bars in the client. Keep in mind, the first time you start your updated client, only one action bar will be displayed. You can adjust your settings in the "Action Bars" section of your options. Action bars can be used to assign objects, spells, text or hotkeys to different action buttons. To assign objects, simply drag & drop them with your mouse onto one of the action buttons. You can also drag spells from your spell list onto an action button. To assign texts and hotkeys or to edit already assigned buttons just right click on the action button and choose the desired option.
We also made a small change in the battle list filtering. From now on, summons of other players will no longer be listed if you choose the option "Hide Players".
We reduced the amount of "crude horn with mouthpiece" that are needed to remove a sight of surrender spawn from 500 to 100. Some minor NPC and map issues were fixed as well. Have fun! Your Community Managers
New Store Interface and Products 20-04-2017 / Rickerd
besides the new Webinterface and the action bars we have also redesigned our Store. Inspired by the Flash client, every item is now directly displayed.
Additionally, we are going to introduce two new blessings: Once implemented, you will be able to obtain the "Heart of the Mountain" and the "Blood of the Mountain" blessing. Besides the five regular ones, you are now able to further protect your character with these two blessings. Both can either be purchased in the Store or obtained directly in Tibia from two new NPCs. Already existing NPCs that are selling the regular blessings will provide you with further information about their new colleagues. Being fully protected with all seven blessings reduces your loss of experience and skill points in case of a character's death by 56% now.
Furthermore, you are now able to buy up to five charges of each blessing. If your character dies, you will lose one charge of each blessing but will still be blessed until you used up all of your remaining charges. There is a new button for blessings above the amulet slot, which will show you the current record of your blessings along with additional information concerning their shielding effects on your next death penalty.
Keep in mind that you can only buy the first charge of blessings from NPCs. Additional charges need to be purchased via the Store. If your character dies while it is not fully protected by all seven blessings, you now have the chance to reduce your most recent death penalty retroactively via a death redemption. By purchasing the Death Redemption your character will be treated as if it was fully shielded by all blessings at the time of death, meaning you will regain a maximum of 56% of your lost EXP and skill points. To clarify the usage we have prepared a small example:
Completely unprotected, your character would lose 1,000,000 EXP in case of death.
At the time of death, you were protected by five blessings, which reduced your penalty by 40% resulting in a total loss of 600,000 EXP.
You decide to purchase the Death Redemption, which treats your character as if it would have been blessed by seven blessings the moment you died.
Therefore, after the purchase, you will retroactively regain the missing 16%, which equals in 160,000 EXP. The same applies to your lost skill points.
Death Redemption is only available in the Store for a limited time frame of 24 hours after the character's death. In addition, it is only applicable to your most recent death.
To answer further questions, we have provided a small FAQ for you.
Introducing the Tibia Support Webinterface 19-04-2017 / Rickerd
Dear Tibians, today we have an important announcement to make: Very soon, we will add a new section to our Tibia Website that will allow you to contact our support team directly via this site! No more bothersome switching to your mail client before you can write us an email - simply click on the all-new "Get Help" button in section "Support", select "Create New Ticket" and off you go!
Once you have confirmed your request, a support ticket will be created and forwarded to our support team, where it will be processed as usual. You will be notified on the site as soon as you have received a reply. All existing tickets will be shown in a new, dedicated section at the bottom of your Account Management Page.
Please note that you must be logged into the game to create support tickets via the Tibia website. However, don't worry if you do not have a Tibia account, or if you have lost access to yours - you will still be able to contact our support team via email. Requests made via email may take longer to process than those made via the Webinterface, but they will be processed just as reliably.
