Historical origins of names in the game

Post by Heliosophist »

Candia (historical server name)
"La Isola Di Candia" = Island of Crete https://brbl-zoom.library.yale.edu/viewer/1105602

Yalahar (city in Tibia)
In India there is a village called Yelahar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yelahar
Is phonetically close to the name of ancient country in India https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhara
and French animated science fantasy film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandahar_(film) – most probably it was inspiration.

For now, just that much, maybe I'll complete it.
I am asking you for help in tracking the sources of names taken from the history (apart from trivial ones, eg. katana).
